Miami Recognition Dinner
It was an honor to be part of this memorable event this past weekend and in the presence of so many distinguished individuals and honorees who have fought tirelessly for equal rights in our community. To see the “godfather of philanthropy”, Mr. James Pepper, receive a well deserved award/recognition for his involvement in the community, especially for HIV/Aids awareness for several years, was incredibly touching. Additionally, watching Ms. Kristen Beck, the first transgender U.S. Navy Seal, walk on stage to receive her award and listen to her speak made me realize just how important it is to stay involved and continue the fight for the rights we all deserve as individuals. It was a remarkable evening and I was proud to be a part of this years Sparkle, NGLTF recognition dinner.
